Have been checking out the site for a while now and have found it very useful and informative. I am going for a test drive next week in a Fabia Vrs,this is the soonest i can get there, and i can't wait.

Only thing is, which color to go for, black is lovely when clean, every other car is silver, and i don't like yellow,so i should go for the red, ---but i do like the black........oh eck

As a side note i have found a large Rally type rear wing for the Fabia on a website called www.kopistyling.com.. just follow the skoda link and go to the bottom of the page,it looks fab.Maybe some one would pass this on in the right place, as i know some people would be intrested, will let you know how i go on later in the month

have fun Dunkyboy... :)

Ive always been wary of red - it goes pink when baked in the sun. although red does look best - all the brochures showed a red vrs when they were new. sports cars should be red, simple as that.

agree - yellow is not nice, only works on certain cars (lotus's, fiat cinqacento etc, seat leon cupra looks ok too)

agree also - black looks the business - but only a good choice if you like washing your car every week.

(imho) silver is the one to have - youre right when you say 'every other car out there is silver' thats because it looks so good (I reckon) and I think it works best on slightly angular cars (like the square boxy vrs) and less so on something rounded like a mondeo.

...and another reason to avoid red .....(years ago) a mates brother-in-law told him police in derbyshire used to play 'snooker' - nick a red car for speeding, then a yellow one, red, green, red, brown... and so on.... urban myth maybee, and years ago too, pre gatso days even....but put me off red!

Welcome to the site, re colours, that is a question only you can decide. The gallery has alot of pics to help you. If lke me and cleaning is not a passion then black appears to be a bit of a pain; however they do look brilliant when clean.

Personally I like silver; but it's easy on the eye and blends well. Horses for courses, you could go for yellow.

Hello and Welcome,

i'd go for a black one,i know i've got a Silver Octy but i love them both in Black.

Go on, go for a black one. They look the dogs dangly bits.

(pain in the bum to keep clean though)

Oh and welcome.

I think silver will be my choice, they do make a car feel/look more solid somehow, pity there aren't more colours to choose from.If you can have any colour then i'd pick a light blue (swimming pool colour).

Can't wait for my test drive , bye.

Cant subscribe to this 'theory' that black is hard to keep clean. I wash my black vrs no more than I did my previous red golf, and it still always looks clean. ALL cars get dirty, and yes whilst some may show it more than others SO WHAT?????

IMHO theres nothing more rewarding than washing your pride and joy, be it once a week, twice, three times. SO, if you prefer black, go for black.....isn't it a no-brainer???

Black, mines filthy atm but it is November! During the summer months when its light after work I quite enjoy cleaning the car, almost theraputic.

Mean ;)

See.....IMHO no other colour produces results like the one above....stunning AND like Ross I too find it theraputic....and rewarding. Go for black, you know you want it.

I went to the dealer determined that I was going to get either a red or a silver Octy vRS. My previous Corsa was black and so I thought I would have learnt my lesson!

To cut a not so long story short - the demo car was black and looked the business.

Ended up buying black one! :D

Had to wash it the 2nd day I had it! But looks great!

I had the SupaGuard stuff put on it and it seems to work pretty well - takes less time to wash than the Corsa.

As Ross says - cleaning your car can be theraputic! :)
