VRS Stainless Steel Exhaust

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I've just been told that the baffles are breaking up in the centre box of my exhaust and that a genuine replacment from the main dealer will cost me £202 incl VAT and Labour charges. Firstly, this seems like a fair wad of cash and secondly the car has only 47k on it - is this normal wear (2.0 TFSI VRS Estate).

Had a look at 'Lomglife Exhausts' and they quote around the £300 mark for a cat-back stainless system with a lifetime guarantee. This seems to be a much better investment - so has anyone got one of these ? I'm not looking for any performance gain, I just want a like-for-like replacement. (Nice and quiet, no flames, no chavvy 6in tail pipes etc)

Any recommendations appreciated !

Had a longlife exhaust made up on my last car removed the cats (diesel so not needed for emissions) and a full system downpipe back cost £400 , OEM was £1600 with no pattern option , i was very happy with it , bit louder but not much and a well made system if you are going to keep the car its a no brainer imo

I'm guessing it depends on the type of journeys you do but 2 years and 47k I would have thought it would last longer. My fabia is still on the same system having cover 93k and is coming up to 6 years old (did most of its mileage in its first 3 years)

Diesel exhaust last longer than petrols
