Finally, the spreadsheet matches the list - although I have no details for the Briskoda webmaster yet , and I am also wondering whether he should be excluded from the competition for free tickets if he's bringing his better half?

Having done a fair few laps at The Coombe, can I suggest the following;

If you decide to do out on track in one of the open sessions remember there are people out there with considerably more experience than you (if you are lucky) and others who >think< they have but are in fact completely out of control. You can usually tell who the morons are - I remember years ago some idiot with a cut down Subaru Legacy who had quite a bit of skill but forgot he was sharing the track with other people. He got banned in the end but only after he's taken to cutting the corners at the Essess and chucking mud all over the place thereby causing several spins. Just keep your eyes open.

Camp Corner - treat this with respect and build up to it. I've seen SOOOO many cars lose it here ecause its deceptive - its nice and wide but its easy to carry too much speed in and lose the back end.

Tower - similar to above but with a much better braking area so if you stuff it you've only got yourself to blame!

Avon Rise - this is where your car goes light as you crest the rise and starts to get a little squirrilly..........just as you stand on the anchors for.......

Quarry! Watch any DVD and 99% of the accidents involve the banking at Quarry. Having hit it myself many years ago I can catagorically tell you if you do it at anything other than walking pace you won't be driving your car home! Seriously this corner is a bloody nightmare if you're carrying too much speed into it and there is nowhere to scrub it off.......apart from the grass and........tyres.......and.........bang!

The Essess / Bobbies - look out for numpties who think they are on the final lap of the British Grand Prix charging up your inside wheels locked, smoke pouring out of the their tyres and looking to use your drivers door to slow them down. Trick is to always have an escape route just in case and check your mirrors before turning in - especially true if you have a full face lid on (which you should by the way)

Its a nice track but treat it with respect........

Yeah I'd love to but the problem is I'd want to go out on the track! Too tempting and every time I've been in April its ****ed down!!!

Always been dry the times I have been on! Last year's session was dry (up to the point when we finished when a small sharp shower hit)

everytime I've been to coombe its chucked it down lets hope this year I dont bring the weather with me!

My first time I lost it a camp corner, I was alot younger and though I could keep pace with an impreza in the wet..........which I was until running out of tallent at camp corner, back end slipped away from me. Still that was over 10 years ago now. Damn it that makes me feel old.

This will be my first briskoda event for probably 3 years so I'm looking forward to it

Also, today - I have confirmed the dedicated track session booking with Castle Combe circuit!

And I have just checked the spreadsheet and at the moment EVERYONE who has entered the competition for a free entry ticket has got one.

Basically, the deal will be like this:

THIRTY skodas will be allowed on track (strictly no more) for 15 minutes for the sum of £27 each. I am tagging on a £2 "service charge" for posting on your tickets & passes when they arrive (I wil be paying the £800 total cost myself.....) Sending by recorded delivery to avoid any chances of losing them.

Typical, I'm working that weekend... If the customer cancels at short notice like the last time I will not be held for the violence that ensues....
