Intresting. Here is an ebay link to Yeti search.

When I went through their website for a quote, the discount they were claiming was 15% on a 1.2 dsg elegance. I was feeling quite smug about my 12% from Drive the Deal before I saw that! Knowing something about dealer margins, this must mean that Škoda Uk are offering a huge amount of bonus to dealers for people to give this much away and still make something for themselves, so there are deals out there to be done even if you do not want to go through a broker.

Of course the flipside to all this, is that it isn't going to help residuals in the long term. I always thought that depreciation guides like in What Car were being unnessarily gloomy about residuals on Yetis, and given I thought that Yeti would be niche and in general (so I thought) Škoda dealers do not tradationally discount that much, I was hoping that the car could match at least a Qashqui. It seems like I will be wrong though.

It is a shame though that Škoda Uk didn't hold their nerve more, and not offer such terms to dealers on a new car such as the Yeti which the dealers will then just give away, thus starting the downwards residual spiral.

Hey ho! Maybe I just need to look forward to the arrival of my Yeti, and not be such an accountant!

If it is possible and a car can be bought at a lower price, then that is what it is worth, no more. I have scanned through quickly most of the site and many cars are massively discounted. One manufacturer the stood out as being not very much reduced in price are BMW. The Landrover Defender is not massively discounted either. To my eyes it shows how much dealers and some brokers are making out of selling cars. Obviously some cars are overpriced more than others and I think that is reflected in the discounted pricing. The new Discounted Yeti prices are very attractive, they make the BMW X1 appear massively expensive. A car that I would have considered if its price was better! The price difference between what one can buy a Yeti for and an X1, is so huge now, the BMW is no where near that much better, no matter what one wants out of a car. The only people who might buy an X1 at that price would be, died in the wool BMW fanatics and people with money to burn and even they must be looking at the X1 and thinking is it worth that much!

The prices are far better that I've been quoted by dealers. Has anyone used Broadspeed before, if so are they any good?

Do they take part ex's, and if so do they offer a 'fair' price?

I have gone just so far without actually committing any money as yet. They do not do scrapage. I am not sure about part exchange but I would think it unwise. This is because you will loose some of your discount as they will most likely give only rock bottom prices for cars. By from Broadspeed but sell privately, maximise on your assets, that is my advice.

something odd with those prices,

Along side all the bargain new ones there is a lot of 2009 Yetis all being sold by broadsped with 9,000 miles on the clock.

That’s some coincidence :S

Broadspeed have a good reputation though so if your going for the basic car with few extras its an amazing no brainer bargain.

I do not beleive that anything sinister is afoot, they also broker almost new cars.

I spoke to Broadspeed this evening, they state that they only sell new cars and the used ones were on ebay in error. The guy was not very helpful, and I got the impression I was not the first caller re the used Yetis !

Stated they do not do part ex as the cars have a corporate discount, hence the price, so my Fabia VRS SE may be going in the papers soon .

Fair enough, just seems odd to moi that they all had 9k mileage, perhaps the writer just wanted to indicate they weren't new.

Fabia VRS is a nice motor, certainly worth ringing around the Skoda dealers for a price as a back up in case its a slow seller.

I sold both my previous Seat Leon Cupras to Seat dealers for a reasonable cash prices.

I might try that, thanks.

Has anyone ordered a car at the low brodaspeed prices.

I have just checked their website and the prices seem a lot higher now, higher than DtD who discount the extras.

With Broadspeed cocking up the ebay ads on the used Yetis I'm wondering if those original 19% off prices on the new yetis were real or not.

I tried to order a Yeti from Broadspeed when the prices were low a few weeks ago. They got back to me and said they would need to check with Skoda to see if they could offer that discount on factory orders.

They never did get back to me and as fuzzybunny had already posted the prices are now higher than DtD.

That is interesting or disappointing. I was seconds away from ordering at the low price but just held back and still have not done so to date. If companies re quoting prices that they can not match they ought to be prosecuted on inaccurate trade descriptions. They published their low prices all over the place including E Bay.

I went to MSB Skoda in Darlington last week and they got to within a £100 or so of the Broadspeed price, so I ordered my new Yeti from them.

Give them a ring and ask for salesman Steve Eland or manager Malcolm to see what they can do.

A dealer coming within £100 of the Broadspeed price (when it was even lower than it is this week) is pretty amazing!
