can alloys be fixed that have dents?, it is a minor dent and no crack is visible. any ideas how much a new alloy would cost etc?

any help and advice welcome

I would discard the damaged rim and get a new one. I think they are

Get in touch with the local council and submit a claim if it's caused damage and they will pay for a new alloy. :)

Why not post in the "For Sale/Wanted" section. There is usually someone every now and then who is wanting to sell some OE alloys.

My Octy has 5 alloys (inc the spare). Has the Furby got a 5th alloy for a spare?

If so use that and get a cheaper steel for a spare.

Might save you a few quid! :)

Depends on the particular car (not model). It's a kind of option IIRC ;)

Mine spare is a steel. I think one or two furby vRS have alloy spares )

I had the same happen with my current wheels. A pothole causing a nice dent in the back of the rim causing the tyre to go flat. They can be repaired and straightened slightly, but will never be perfect. I did mine with a plastic dead shot hammer I have at work so it didn't damage the wheel any more. Stuck it on a balancer and you could see the wheel is now kinda oval shaped, but it balanced up alright. It does still have a slight vibration when you get to about 80 though.

If you whack the damaged wheel on the back if you get it straightened, it won't be quite as noticeable. :)

Kenny,

As Chris says get in touch with the council. Take a couple of pictures of the hole with something next to it for scale, a polite letter explaining the circumstances and a dealer quote for the damage. I did this with my first new car, a Citroen AX, and the council paid out over
