18"'s on the Superb II

Featured Replies

Howdy All,

My wife has ordered a Silver Greenline but in Ireland it comes with steel rims so i hoping to get a nice set of 18" to fill those arches.

I have 18" on my own RS but i don't think that style wheels suits the superb.

Any of yee guys have a setup of 18" on yours? i'd be interested to see them or some choices you may have that suit this model.

looking forward to seeing some of your machines.

Colin.

Drove a Greenline the other day, nice motor.Savage size. Best of luck with it.

Thanks Gaff, yea its a fine size motor, great deals on them now. must get it up to Joe after a few thousand miles to breath a bit of life into the engine.

i might even leave the GREENLINE badge with him :p . still can't believe the road tax will only be 156 euro.

The UK spec Elegance cars have 18's as standard, and there are a few with non Skoda 18's fitted, but you will need to search the forum to find the pix

I think the 18" Luna's look the best on the car out of the available Skoda wheels but I would say they would be savage money as an upgrade over here.

Have a look at Finichi "Maranello" on AlloyWheels.com.My link

Even if you don't like that one, they have a very good selection and the delivery to Ireland is not bad and if you have access to an Irish VAT number it should work out even better.

I've ordered a greenline and went for the 16" Spectrum alloys of the Ambition as an extra. Works out about €600 factory fitted. Was quoted €750-800 to have them dealer fitted so would say 18" would be quite a bit more plus the cost of new tires.

Doesnt the greenline have lowered suspension? If so it could be a bumpy ride with 18" as well.

I also think that if your upgrading from a car that has alloys as standard it doesn't work out as expensive because the cost of the original wheels is taken into account at the build stage. I agree that if you do a bit of driving outside the city the 18" might be unsuitable. 17" Trifids would look great on the lowered Greenline.

anything above 16" will result in 225 tyres. it is absurd driving on 225 with a greenline. it costs extra fuel.

any 18`s would look good on a greenline tbh

The reason the Greenline is so popular in Ireland is that it qualifies for the very restrictive scrappage scheme our inept government are running, I think the drop off in economy caused by running 225 section tyres is not going to make much of a differance to running costs.

hi

i have 18" on my SII

I also like the Themisto alloys in the Combi broucher look very like the RS4 alloys and the Luna look smashing also so i have to go see them in the flesh.

Yea i was thinking of ordering through the dealer but i have my brother lined up to take the standard wheels and tires so the money i get for these i'll be putting the cash towards towards the new ones. I added the Blue tooth as an option for herself, will come in handy now also with the MFSW.

She's lowered 15mm so i'll have to do a bit more research here to find a greenline with some 17" or 18"s on it. most of the roads i'm on are all good so hopefully the suspension will soak up the rest of the bumps.

thanks to all that replied so far.

As you said the main reason she is buying this Greenline car is the 5700 euro she's getting for her 1999 accord that we bought 2 years ago for 4K euro and put 60k miles up on it.

So she is actually getting her money back plus 1700 for the car she drove free from deprecation for 2 years also.

So I’m not too concerned about the drop in running cost, once she is remapped in a few months it might bring it back up anyway.

I like these 17" Trifids but they look too much like her sisters 2008 A4 TDi alloys.

I think I’m with Master Yoda on his ones. They look the business on it, plus i think with the 15mm drop it will be a nice cosy fit. Now i just have to wait for the car to be built.

I’m in no rush for the car as i want to have it fitted out with the options i wanted. Looking at 8 weeks so i have the clock ticking already.

When i get some wheels I’ll post for you all.

Thanks lads.

Colin

Pic of mine with Luna's fitted , i have no issues with harsh ride but then we also have a VRS Octy and a Evo lancer both are a lot harsher

That sits well on them and looks a lot better on the car instead of just seeing them in the broucher.

i'll have to ask her which ones now as both sets of 18" look the business..

I quite like your machine in black also, over here in Ireland every seems to be getting the wine colored one, herself picked silver and that was one thing she wouldn't let me choose.

For what its worth, I think the 18" Luna suits the car the best out of the wheels offered by Skoda.

+1

but the standard Venus 17" in Germany is also ok. it is a bit similar in shape and offers more comfort I think.

The lunas are nice and easy to clean as well ;)

I personally like the wine red colour i regret going for the black in some ways

You should check out the white Superb Estate on youtube looks great....also seen vRS around my local shopping centre. Its a facelift one looks great...think white is coming back in ROI

pity the estate didn't come in the Greenline spec for the scrap age schemes as she would have snapped it up.

am i right saying the OFFSET is pcd: 5x112 offset: 35 to 42 bore57.1

messing around with paint there, now i'm not good at it but after a drive past the VW dealer ship today she thought the Scirocco Wheels were nice.

Hmmm, lets mess around with it.

They look more like 19", must ask a chap tomorrow and see can he get me a better picture.

Does the Greenline have a well in the boot for a spare wheel. I'm getting a new Greenline soon and am concerned about only having a can of puncture repair should I get a puncture.

Yea, because the dealer actually had a spare wheel in it.

Yea, because the dealer actually had a spare wheel in it.

as Gaff said, yes some do come with them but In Ireland they charge 200 for the spare but i didn't take it as i was putting alloys on it.

The one thing i didn't think of is that when you down pay the 200 euro you also loose out on the jack and the tyre iron and the yoke that holds a spare to the chassis.

i'm getting them anyway down in the local breakers and then just throwing in 1 of the 4 wheels that came with it.

cracking car for the price of it, are you dealing in the scrappage. make sure you add Bluetooth as it is well worth adding it and rear parking sensors are a must, that boot is a good bit back.

it's heavy for that 1.9TDi so that is why mine will be getting a remap soon

keep us posted
