Octavia vrs 2001, juddering noise

Featured Replies

Hi all. I'm hoping that one of the more educated Skoda or mechanical minded members could help me. I've just returned from holiday to find my beloved vrs with a juddering noise and one you can physically feel coming from the front driver side wheel(i presume) when i'm braking.

I have had a puncture on that tyre for about 2 weeks prior to my holiday, but never ran it below 15psi. New tyre on the way but was waiting until after holiday. Also when i had 2 new tyres fitted to the front about 6 weeks ago, garage informed me of 'soft suspension' and quoted me approx £80 inc fitting for the part( sorry, dont know part and im sure it wasn't a dampener)

i had new discs on the front about 6 months/7,000 miles ago and do not as a rule brake too hard.

If anyone could assist me of any potential reasons for this noise/vibration I would be very grateful....to give me peace of mind when I go the garage, especially if they say what one of you mention.

Many thanks in advance and happy skodering!

mike
