Intermittent indicator problem

Featured Replies

Since taking delivery of my Superb 1.9 tdi SE (no mod’s apart from wood inserts) in May 2009 I have had an intermittent problem whereby the indicators just don’t work. They don’t flash or light up. It’s as if I haven’t moved the indicator stalk at all.

The problem only seems to happen when it’s cold out but not always. I don’t remember it ever happening in warm weather. This leads me to believe it’s something to do with the indicator stalk switch itself.

I had a dealer near Oxford (Northampton Autohaus Skoda went bust) look at it but all they did was plug it into the diagnostic machine which showed no errors. To be fair to them though they did offer to have it over night while they try and witness the problem but I hadn’t the time.

The car is due its first service soon and I wondered if this is a common problem and if anyone knew what a common remedy was.
