Octavia rs power loss

Featured Replies

Hi all, the starter motor problem on my car has been fixed, and has gone into Hayes skoda. Still has the problem of powerloss when starting engine from cold. It will die on me and then after a few seconds pick up and it will be fine. Anyone experienced this before?

Experiencing this at the moment, it'll start go upto about 1200 revs, then as soon as i try to move off it dips down to bugger all and nearly cuts out, have to slip the clutch to move off, or leave it a minute or so. I think there was a post on here saying it was a common problem and to try cleaning throttle body first and then temp sensor or similar. Check over the last few recent pages. Going to try and sort mine next weekend.

Funily enough it didnt do it this morning and it was minus 3.5 here!

Mine only does it when it's cold start. Start frm warmed up and it's ok. I've heard it may be air intake sensor on tb, maf sensor or secondary air pump. Anyway it's being looked at, by Hayes skoda dealer in clacton on Monday. Should find out by Monday evening what could be wrong and shall let everyone know

i had the same prob when i had them 2 codes ...turbo to throttle pressure drop ..afm...un plug your afm before you start your car in the

morning and see if it still does it....av you checked for any codes

Yes have checked for fault codes and there wasn't any stored in the memory. So not really sure what is causing it. It only happens when engine is cold. If engine has been warmed up and u restart the car it doesn't happen

Dmramsey, I know this is 2 yrs old but did u ever get this sorted? I'm just having the same trouble with my octavia and no one can get to the bottom of it.
