cheers kev

Welcome to the site. Do you have any photos to show us how the car is sitting at the moment?

the vRS is lower mate, by a fair bit. I never did get the 35mm lowering thing.

I just got coilovers to solve that so you can put it how you want.

someone will be along to say whats what, but I would say they will lower a bit just not as much as that much

What springs are they? Eibach ? if so Id do a search mate as they were not a good choice on the mk1 iirc

Hi, welcome to the forum.

They probably lower the standard Octavia by 35mm. The vRS is 20mm lower than standard so the springs will most likely lower the vRS by 15mm or so.

Do a search - there are loads of threads on springs, shocks and coilovers.

Yes, the Mk1 vRS is lower than a standard octavia already. If you are looking at 35mm lowering springs for a standard car then you will end up at about the same height you already are. Buy the proper springs for your car and you will be fine.

are you lowering with just springs??? i would not advise it i have 18s fitted with 225/40/18 tyres and it does catch now and again with people in the back so i would say fit shocks aswell or go coilovers if funds allow. they are on my shopping list

I always found my MKI vRS too low TBH...

I'm with vRSLen on this one. Mine is already too low to be practical on its standard springs and shocks. I manage to ground the front of the car on nearly every trip I make.

For me, it would have to be a set of Koni FSD shocks on standard (but fresh) springs or a set of decent coilovers. Before all of that though, you need to fit a rear arb as this is, without a doubt, the best bang for buck suspension mod you can make to the mk1 vRS (with no effect on ride comfort at all). I've only done the RARB mod myself and it's so good that any further mods can wait until the original shocks/springs need to be replaced through wear and tear.

Not trying to be a kill joy but these cars are already pretty low. The real improvemnts are to be made by reducing body roll.

Mmmm... kittie tasty! :giggle:

I asked to see a picture of the car as some of the older vRS cars seem to sit way lower than mine on the standard springs anyway. The higher mileage cars that I've compared mine to seem to be a good deal nearer to the ground. Seeing some of the older ones are nine years old now, there is bound to be a few out there that won't need lowering as the original setup will be quite tired.

this 35mm with 18s fitted

I'm still a sucker for the standard 17s. They seem to look right for some reason.

ye i do think they look good but the 18s with 4 new tyres were a straight swap for the standards which were a tad rough with 4 not so new tyres. :)

Of course the estate came with the 16s which is a shame because they do look a little bit too small. I was considering changing them over for a set of 17s off of ebay but then realised how cheap 16" tyres are compared to the 17s. Could still be temprted though, they do look MUCH nicer.
