Fabia vRS (not the usual post)

Featured Replies

LOL @ Babs, I dont know why you keep trying to educate them!

The Fabia II is going to be a new 2.5 litre TDi running 300hp yet managing 99mpg and will be £12k just like the out going model.... dur!

Anyway back to where real people live, if/when the Fabia gets a diesel lump it will be just as Babs says, the 140 which will be a manual, whilst the petrol will be just like Babs says, the DSG 150. For what reason... well its the reason Babs says as it happens!

I hope that's not sarcasm!

It just makes sense to me, because I can see the way that Skoda fit into VAG (giggity). Some people are deluded and think that VAG will make Skoda better than the more expensive marques.

Just got back from my skoda dealership, dunno what people know already but have been informed that july time the fabia vrs will be released with the 1.4 TFSi (170bhp) with the  7sp DSG only. No info as to a oil burner as of yet.

We know that 170 seems unlikely due to Skoda's position in VAG, and that it'll be 7 speed DSG (which is :thumbup: two thumbs fresh, because it's a brilliant box, and the haters haven't actually tried it...).

But as I've said, I'm willing to be surprised by a 170 spec version.

The dealer told me its 170 for sure like, which fits in nicely below the 180hp of the ibiza cupra aswell. and i'm not saying its not good the DSG. Lightning fast changes etc sound canny, but ffs throw in a manual option for people that like driving with a clutch.

We haven't been told anything officially.

Babs, it wasnt no. However it can be if you like? Id same the exact same thing, the old vRS was the same 'level' as the FR, so look at the FR and thats what the vRS is going to get... really is that simple in my mind?

best start saving for the fabia combi rs then ;)

The petrol won't sell then, there is no market for a warm automatic hatch. The DSG box on the Octy VRS turns it into a gutless snail slower than my diesel volvo estate.

You've obviously never driven a DSG car then!

The Octavia vRS TSI DSG is superb, the Scirocco GT DSG is brilliant and the current Ibiza FR/Cupra are excellent.

I'll post this in big bright letters so the people around here who still haven't understood the whole thing:

THE FABIA VRS ONLY SOLD WELL IN THE UK - NO ONE ELSE REALLY BOUGHT ONE - SKODA ARE NOT GOING TO PRODUCE A CAR JUST FOR THE UK

Is that better? :)

Cobblers I've driven a few of them and the DSG in the Diesel Octy VRS is pants. You're maybe just easily led by advertising. Oh and btw you'll find it easier if you stand on your hands.

Infact I'm not lead by advertising at all. I just know that it's a brilliant gear box.

FABIA VRS WILL BE

- 1.4 TSI

- 170bhp

- DSG

- available in hatch and estate

- available end of June

Anyone who doesnt believe me wasnt in the Skoda factory last week when I saw it...........

Yes, it will happen, and Skoda will go into over production of the Fabia vRS with

the 1.4 engine that will not sell. The MKI vRS sold because it was a diesel with

good torque and economy .......

And the new one will be a petrol with good torque and economy...

If you want a diesel wait for the 2.0TDI with 140 :)

I do not want a diesel, thank you. Babs will buy one before I do :)

What Babs doesn't Know isn't worth knowing............:giggle:

"can't remember who told me now " :wait:

Might even have been Babs Himself.............

Exactly! ;)

Although there was this Passat CL TDI for pennies on Autotrader near me, I'm considering it as a "drive it till it dies" cheap run around... but anyway.

Again, 170 would be nice, but more likely to be 150 as per the Ibiza FR. VW have just released news of the Polo R, which will be 190bhp, apparently. A 170-spec vRS would be nice, but I can't see it. If it was 170 it would have to cost more than the FR, surely? And who's gonna pay £16k for a Skoda Fabia?

I do hope that you are not pulling our collective legs!! 150-170bhp estate with DSG sounds lovely, i would prefer a 140bhp diesel but i wont complain. Roll on October!

Apologies to OctaviaT81 for stealing his post from the facelift thread and i hope it isnt a pearost, but this site says that there will be a 170bhp 1.4TSI and 140bhp 2.0CR TDI. http://news.auto.cz/spy/spy-photos-skoda-fabia-2010.html

But then again it could be the czech equivalent of AutoExpress

Probably

Probably

I think a 140-TDI will come, but maybe not straight away and it might not be "RS spec" either.

Auto.cz is a good site, puts most of our motoring media to shame!

As far as the price goes, let us wait and see, but as Babs posted in another thread a 1.2TSI Polo retails at £14,500, so £16k for a more powerful engine with DSG might not seem too bad, depending on spec.

But the Ibiza FR is £15,250-ish!

Id like it to undercut that car on price , if so I may actually lever open my wallet and get one.
