What Wheel Offset is a vRS

Featured Replies

Hi Folks i can't seem to find a definitive answer ( my brain aint working today )

What Wheel offset is a vRS ET35 etc and whats the biggest size that can safely go on

Also would 235 cross section tyres fit 17" zenith's? Reason i ask is i have just been offered 4 brand spanking new Goodyear Assymetrics but they are 235/45/17 and i currently have 225/45/17 tyres.

To me this would (if it can be done) have the same effect as adding 10mm spacers to the wheels due to the wider tyre.

Cheers

EDIT: on Team Dynamics website its ET54 which i think is wrong :wonder:

Not sure about 17's Carl, but the standard 18's are ET51(7.5J) - my Team Dynamics are ET45 (8J), and I wouldn't want to go any lower than that

AFAIK 7.0x17 ET54 is standard or 7.5x18 ET51.

Up to 8.0x18 ET 43 will go on safely without any modifications (eventually ET42).

ET35 with 8.0 width can give problems with the rear arches (not always, depends on build tolerances)

235/45/17 will give a bigger circumfence and will alter gear ratios (makes the car sluggish).

Even if it might be minor, I would rather stick to 225/45/17.

235 will give 5mm more on the outside and on the inside (but there are tolerances, some tyres build wider as others despite the same size), so it would mean the same as 5mm spacers.

Will go for some 8 x 18's i think (which was what i was looking at anyway)

Think i'll stick with ET45 as have got the WALK fitted
