Umm, yep, like wot he said.

I didn't know the fel had the rectifiers in the regulator, thought they were heavier duty and in the body on the unit....so there you go!

i don't know about the 1300 ones, but the diesel one deffo do, i've completely stripped one down before now, also the other strange thing about them is that they have 3 phase windings in them

I thought they were all 3-phase? I've never rebuilt one that wasn't, anyway...

3 phase gives you a lot more power for the same size, a single phase winding would be HUGE.

Indeed, hence all of 'em being 3-phase?
