You are doing it right! The big Skoda Octavia II picture thread!

Featured Replies

Glad they arrived ok Alan, and you seem happy with the results. I can confirm the drop will settle as I have the same springs fitted, it actually looks better and 'lower' on the road.

With regards to having 17" wheels, the rolling ratio will be the same as the 18's so technically the ride height will look the same.

i dunt getit? obviously im being thick here, but how can wheels an inch smaller have the same look??? lol

You are, lol.

Think about the tyre size mate, on the 18's its a 40 profile whereas the 17's wear a 45. This is a percentage of the width which on both is 225. So the tyres on yours have a higher wall size, so the overall rolling ratio is almost the same.

i would have thought it was still 0.81 of an inch smaller ;) anyways after this discussion and the one with bluevrs, im torn between Weitec GT's or just the springs at a 3rd of the cost. hmmmmm

The weitecs are just dampers you still need the springs ,it is at least £650 for ultra package

Here's mine ... Just fitted the back spoiler last week, was a bit worried that it was going to look too big and vulgar when i tried it on when it was still in primer but once painted and stuck on it looks ace.

My link

but yeh more expensive than i thought lol.

That IS cheap  DPM have them for 895 :o at least you will save yourself £100 in fitting, it took them 3 hours to get mine off, backs easy , fronts a pain

Looks a lot better lower Alan. It's on my wish list but doubt I'll ever have the funds. emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Simple solution........become a civil servant........you'll be rolling in it......allegedly ;)

Fronts are always a pain and the only real way around it is persistance and elbow grease! lol. Still not sure I may look into a different brand a bit cheaper as I like the idea of coilovers being able to be adjusted to whatever I see fit, where as I had springs and shocks on the Fabia and its was low and painfully hard permenantly. Just heard such good things about the Weitecs i wanna try em'! lol.

I did reply to your PM.

The ones you've linked to there aren't hubcentric.

You might want to read the advert again Nick ;)

The one I'm looking at reads as follows:-

"H&R Trak+ 8mm (16mm Per Axle) Hubcentric Wheel Spacers & Bolts

PCD 5/112 - Centre Bore 57.1 - Bolt Thread 14x1.5"

To be fair to you Nick it was hidden away right at the top......on the first line :D

Whilst they obviously have the correct centre bore, they don't have a lip on them. Ergo the wheel, spacer, hub assembly is not hubcentric.

I can see a lip on the pic?

Although the product information states they are hubcentric and the picture shows a 'lip', I can absolutely guarantee that Nick is correct, the 8mm spacers supplied by DPM DO NOT have the lip, (the picture is for illustration purposes) and are therefore technically not hubcentric. And that info is from the DPM horses mouth......

Fair enough!

What wheels are these?

They are pretty close to what I want.

Looking for either grey or black, simple and understated in 18's.

Cheers

They were the original Skoda Zeniths in an anthracite powder coat, but they went about 3 sets ago

The picture is a couple of months old; I've added wheelspacers on the backwheels in the meantime, which means it looks even better now ;)

Have anyone here heard about the Norwegian car-meeting "Gatebil"? It is a meeting that last from Thursday to Sunday with track racing and show and about 50.000 wisitors. I was there on Saturday and Sunday;
