YETI Demand

I had a thought and started to write this, decided it was a ridiculous thought, then thought it wasn't as bad as some of the stuff our politicians get up to, so I decided to post it anyway. POINT BEING: Has anyone actually seen many YETIs out on the road??? We are told they are selling, but is this some perverse marketing campaign which will see the strap line "Have YOU seen a Yeti" appearing on our screen sometime soon? Silly, I know, but the answer from me is a resounding NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What's going on?

Their is no such thing as a Yeti, its a figment of the imagination. It is part of the conspiracy culture deigned to wet the apatite of dedicated motorists. Come on, is it really possible that such a near perfect car could possibly exist? No way I say. :o

By the same arguement, I have not seen too many 59 plates either. The Yeti has only been available from September and, as I read the Forum, there was a flow of units in around November/December with a few in October. Now there seems to be stories of March to May delivery.

My car history was :-

Singer Chamois (Hillman Imp in drag)

TR6

TVR Tuscan 3 ltr. (Home built)

TVR 2500 M (Home built)

Audi 80

Alpine

Mazda 6

Mazda 6 Estate

Two Sierras (Company Cars)

Nissan Terrano (Company car)

Nissan Terrano

Honda Stream

Nissan X-Trail

Yeti (first Skoda)

Interesting you said about the lack of sickness in the Yeti. Our eldest child has been very sick in the back of a Mazda 6 estate (hire car round Ireland  ), wears sick bands in the A4 Avant (and still goes very pale and sweaty), and felt sick in the back in the Octavia test drive. We had to hire a brand new 3 series BMW and all felt sick! Even my husband driving the BMW was queasy but he was 'testing out the amazing grip' round country roads. Didn't hold up too much hope for the taller Yeti but went on a 2 hour test drive and they were fine. Result! Mind you that was the 170bhp diesel and we're getting the 1.2tsi. We only had a short test drive in the 1.2tsi and the children weren't in that one... knowing our luck......!?!

My dad had Mercedes estates when we were growing up and I was always car sick :envy:

- maybe its being lower to the ground in a smooth estate length car that does it?! or dare I say this... :x maybe the alpha males putting their feet down a little to hard in their new toys B)

Lets all hope the YETI s higher ride does the trick!

3, I believe.

A red one near Bath, a grey one 'tween Aldershot and Guildford, and a light blue one 'tween Woking and Chertsey.

What a preposterous thought. Whatever gave you the idea that males behaved in such a manner? Tut, tut. :wonder:

A higher seat position giving great visibility will help enormously. I still get car sick now as an adult, never when driving, only as a passenger, and visibility is a huge factor. There is also an airy feeling about the Yeti which is helpful. We used to have a Picasso and that was equally good for similar reasons. I hope it sorts the problem out for you as car sickness is horrible for the person being sick and stressful for everyone else in the car. I have tried every artificial and "natural" aid under the sun and have never found one that works. My wife likes me being car sick though as it means I always volunteer to drive on nights out.
