How do you change fog light bulbs?

Featured Replies

Sorry for the dot com.... emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif

If you take out the middle grill (I have the Milotec lower grill and this is easier to remove), you cann access the rear of the fog lights. The bulbs are directly at the back.

I dont remember exactly, but you cant just pull out the outside grill parts. You will have to remove the middle part and than the side parts will also come out.

If you access from above, sliding out the headlamp unit can benefit. The side were the airbox is, is easiest, the other side a bit cramped. And you will easily loose the bulbs if you want to put it back in place (because it is so cramped).

I rather take the grill out.

NO H8 bulbs for a pre facelifted VRS!

Just simple H1 bulbs.

Hehe ok so its the H1's that I need? :D

Exactly, in the small round foglights of the prefacelifted VRS are H1 bulbs. (changed mine with NightBreakers, little whiter than original)

The thread is three years old

There are very bright chances of ruining the fog lamps reflectors because unlike headlights they don't have ventilation to pass out heat generated in the fog lamps.... that is why manufacturers use 35W bulbs instead of 55W..... And HIDs produce lot of heat........ Em saying this with my own experience... Because I have lost both the fog lamps of my Toyota Fortuner because if HIDs

EPIC FAILURE! SHOULD HAVE FOLLOWED ADVICE IN THIS FORUM. I INSTALLED THE BULBS AFTER REMOVING THE 'UMBRELLA' THAT COMES ON THE TIP OF THE BULB ON STOCK BULBS. THOUGH IT LOOKS GOOD THE LIGHT WHEN COMPARED TO STOCK BULB IS TERRIBLE. I WENT BACK TO THE STOCK BULB AFTER COUPLE OF DAYS. SORRY DIDN'T REMEMBER TO TAKE PICS, MY BAD! ALSO THE BULB ERROR WARNING FLASHED ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER.

THANKS FOR THAT..!!!

LOL :D

I live in the countryside east of Milano. During most winter foggy nights I can't see even my bonnet. Sometimes I can't even see the wipers.

Don't think foglights really make such a difference.

Unfortunately, here in Italy most people keep foglights on most of the time for they think they get more light (instead of deep down light).

Result is light reflecting on wet tarmac and very annoying.

Too many of them, a baseball bat won't suffice. It'll take a machine gun.
