Lancia Delta HF turbo

Featured Replies

I have recently aquired the above car

1988 F 1.6 turbo. for a 22 year old car it is in suprisingly good condition. The only issues are that the back edge of the roof and sunroof need some remedial work and needs a full check over. The engine turns over but doesn't start as there is not a drop of fuel in it at the moment.

I have always wanted a HF Intergrale but this comes close.

My dilemma is that I have a Skoda 130RS sat festering in my garage awaiting a rebuild. I have owned the Skoda for about 11 years now.

Should I:

A ) keep the Lancia and do it up and sell the Skoda?

B ) Sell the Lancia and rebuild the skoda?

C ) Sell both and get a HF Intergrale?

Stuck for what to do as I realy like the Intergrale but would hate to get rid of my skoda beasty. :(

C :)

If the Skoda has been festering for 11 years in your garage, you clearly have no intention of doing it up, so get rid I say.

No sorry I worded it incorrectly.

I have owned the Skoda for 11 years and driven it. And needed a rebuild about twelve months ago and that is why it is festering in the garage. :)

As I got promoted at work I have had less time to fix cars but I am trying to allow some time for stuff now.

I can see merits in all 3 courses, but if you can do the work yourself I'd go with tarting up and selling the Delta 1.6, do up and sell the Skoda, and then start looking for an Integrale or an Audi quattro.

Option C :):)

Option C

I'd go Option A

Integrales you're looking at £8k plus for a minter, unless you're looking to get one as a project car

But the Deltas a rare care anyway.

Do up the Lancia would get my vote

Option C.

I knew a bloke who always bought old and rusty Capris to do up. He never got to drive them as he didn't have the time to spend on them. I used to spend a bit more on a decent version and enjoy it day to day. He spent more over the years on no runners than I did on my daily runners. Madness.
