Featured Replies

Hi guys ive decided to spend the weekend giving the mk1 octavia a spruce up and would like to know if anyone can recomend a good method to restore the black plastic trims in the bumpers. Ive tried the obvious back to black that didnt work ..... .....Is there any other options short of buying new trims

how buggered are they, any pics?

welcome to briskoda

If it's just that they've gone faded and grey, then a good clean followed by some Armorall Protectant brings them back up nicely. No doubt the detailing crew will suggest some more expensive/elaborate/better product but I find this works just as well.

Also peanut butter works a treat apparently, but don't be surprised if you come out one day to find all the neighborhood dogs licking your bumpers. :D

arhh the peanut butter gag works on this forum to :giggle: the trims are virtualy grey instead of black i think the sun has bleached them ive not tried armorall as yet i was hopping for a product that is black in colour ,For the easy option rub in leave and buff to a shine is there such a product ?

I dont know if this is too much for you or not but my mate just did this to his MK2 golf using a heat gun. I have put a link to scottishvag where the post is but am unsure whether or not youi need to be a member. I went to see the car after he did this and it made a big difference to how the car looked.
