Motor Factor Parts - Never Again

Featured Replies

Had a new bearing for my vRS which came in the hub. Problem is for some reason the end you screw the hub nut into doesn't have a flush surface and has a slight bevel. This means my mate can't properly tighten the bolt. One solution is to get another cheap 36mm 12 point socket and grind the outside of it down a bit so it can fit in and tighten the bolt. Where can I get this socket on it's own? and what's the cheapest?

I really regret getting a motor factor copy now. Went to TPS who wanted £93 and the motor factors was £50 and because TPS supply the dealers I didn't bother checking with them. Turns out it's only about £60.

Possibly just an issue with that particular part.

My Dad's used motorfactor parts for 30 years, and has had the occasional damaged/miscast/etc part, but it's certainly not the regular thing.

I'd always try the dealer first, if only to get a guide price to judge any saving against. It never ceases to amaze me how many eBay 'bargains' are more expensive than the genuine parts from the dealer.

I'll second that (experience is a great thing!).
