Are there any options on factory-order Octavias that aren't in the price list, but the dealer can add?

There are many options. Just check the list of accessories which you buy anytime. You can order them directly with your order of the car. Your dealer may accept these also instead of giving more rebate on the listprice. My dealer did.

Might be worth checking the Czech web site where you can see what they build from the factory. Sometimes Skoda UK may choose to limit what they pass on as options (they didn't promote Anthracite Grey initially though some on here managed to get it through).

There are several options for some reason not available to UK Octiavias. Most noticeably, the £400 Amundsen Sat Nav option, smaller than Columbus but 60% cheaper and fully featured (SD, TMC, etc). European Octavia catalgues also have several additional interior options - such as beige interior with beige seats - Shawdow Ivory (fabric), Duo Ivory (fabric/leather/artificial leather), Supreme Ivory (leather/artificial leather - identical to beige option in UK Elegance), Alcantara Ivory (Alcantara/leather/artificial leather) as well as RS Supreme seats, just like vRS, in two leather and three fabric trims - Dynamic Silver Onyx, Dynamic Silver Ivory, Dynamic Red Onyx (black with red stitching) available to most models. Dynamic Pack matches RS seats with sport steering wheel. In total, person speccing, let's say Octavia Elegance on continent has 11 different seat and interior trim combinations, compared to four in UK. It is also possible to spec most models, including L&K with 4x4.

Small items missing from UK catalogue include electrically retractable/ foldable mirrors (cost appox £160, in UK this option is available only with memory seats at over £400 total), heated winscreen washers (approx £50) and rough terrain pack (approx £200, includes metal engine tray and suspension lift). You can also order new Octy with matching alloy as a spare, in UK the only catalogue options are space saver and full size steel.

As an oddity in UK, person buying L&K with DSG, can only have paddle shifters with three spoke multifunction + bluetooth steering wheel. Four spoke option is not available. Both are available on main continent.

Skoda uk silly not offering more options just look at the mini to see what a moneyspinner it could be. I would have gone for the folding mirrors . Cant see why anyone would get heated nozzles , it is the first car they have never frozen. Sorry sent nowt a couple of mins ago , pressed wrong button!

If you live in Australia you can get a lighter coloured interior than the 'smoke damaged' standard for most UK cars, unless you go uprange.

from what I understand from my dealer, if you make enough noise and say the right thing that skoda has no choice but to let you have the options if given elsewhere in the eu. I just cant remember what he told me I should say its something to do with the euro laws regarding selling.

WARNING:

Dealers are still selling Maxidot as an option on the DSG gearbox..even though its standard!!!

The brochure is wrong..Surprise, surprise!!

Interesting... What about colours? I see Flamenco Red Metallic (2L2L) has fallen off the UK list..

Also is it possible to upgrade the alloys on an Elegance without getting sports suspension?

Not going for a VRS now so would be interested in making an Elegance a bit less boring.

Folding mirror's would have been nice to spec! A 59 plate Fiesta even has the option now, seen someone press remote lock and then they folded in as I was walking around to flip the other side in the old fashioned method! VAG UK need to stop restricting the Skoda UK market soo much..

Looks like since January it's the same 12 colours across Europe. Flamenco 2L2L is out, Corrida 8T8T stays, my heart broke when I noticed Highland Green 7A7A was gone (best colour for the beige/wood interior of Elegance).

I'm not sure folding mirrors are a good idea. My thinking is that I'd rather some numpty **** the mirror and realise she (or he) is far too close and move away than them scrape down the side of the car.

I see what you're saying but there is much higher chance they will get damaged if they are not folded - park it anywhere in West London and if you park in a line of cars and your mirrors automatically fold, not a single part of your new Octy sticks out of the "crowd". Odds are all for it - it might survive unharmed. But forget to fold them and leave them sticking out of long line of cars and on a narrow enough street it's only a matter of time before a courier biker, bus or white van just smash your mirror away. Your mirrors have indicator, light sensitive glass, heating element. They costs a lot...
