Phone Choices

Featured Replies

right short story is that my beloved Xperia X1 is damaged, most likely repairable but i've been offered a choice of replacement phones since mines is now discontinued.

these choices are:

Blackberry Curve 8900

Blackberry Bold 9000

Palm Pre

now i've never had a blackberry but i know they are decent phones, cant really tell what the real differences are between the phones.

and palm pre... never even seen one of those i dont think.

anyone know much about these phones?

basically i use my phone for texting, calling, taking notes, taking pictures, surfing online and sending emails so a smart phone is a must.

i'm trying to decide (tonight) which of the above 3 is the best or at the very least worth the most as in a few weeks i'm due for an upgrade so if i dont like it its going on ebay once i get my HTC HD2

advice..

Will you be attachin the phone to .for example.. owa?/ exchange account or a pop account somewhere..

Blackberrys are sooooooooooooooooo easy to setup when it comes to emails...

Company we have dealings with bought a load os pre's but had major issues with DHCP setup.

I prefure the blackberrys.. but thats my opinion

i have the HTC HD2, but kinda wished id gone for the palm! no help to you i know but hey!

as far as emails go i dont send a lot from my phone, or in general but its a good option to have and my current phone is capable of doing so.

i'm not really keen on any of these phones to be honest, i like my touch screen but not sure about the palm pre.

starting to sway toward the Bold although the camera on the curve seems a lot better. :S

neither blackberrys are particularly good in the camera department, they are really business phones designed to handle email and phone calls where they excel at that task.

I have seen the palm pre, but have not really played with it.

Try an android based device if you like the palm pre.

i only have the choices above to pick from as the company say those match the spec of my phone.

kind of annoyed i dont have the choice of another windows mobile device.

i like the idea of the palm pre as its a bit like the x1 with the keyboard and touch screen but not keen on the looks and never had a chance to try one out so see if i like the interface.

most likely going to go with the Blackberry Bold 9000. seems to be the better choice overall i think,

I have been using one for 6 months now and it has been fantastic (Been using Blackberry for 7 years), it's a well made and functionable piece of kit however it will take a little getting used to if your not used to the Blackberry way of doing things.
