EGR Delete

Featured Replies

Fairly worthwhile, especially if you currently have a leaking EGR (like many do).

You'll loose some of the anti-stall functions though, as the ECU uses the EGR to regulate that. And you'll notice a shudder when shutting down, but that's normal. And yes, you'll get the engine check light on once it's fitted, as the ECU is expecting communication from the EGR that obviously is not there any more! A remap will sort that one out...

Thanks for thr reply, So is there any other way around clearing the managment light?

Nope, not really. As the ECU has to be re-programmed to be told not to expect anything from the EGR.

If you do this make sure you block off the vacuum pipes that you remove off the EGR Valve, i never done it as wasn't advised, then a mate noticed it and told me off. Blocked them off for me and it made a noticeable difference

I have the Allard pipe on my Fabia VRS, was the first thing i done to the car, got the CEL on but after a while you fail to notice it anymore. Once mapped thats it out

Yep, good point - confuses the vacuum block otherwise :)
