Quick Question

Featured Replies

my vrs is on varible servicing, and the other day was having a look at the oil levels ( which were ok ) but i noticed that it loooked a bit black :thumbdwn: . It has now done 31k and has only had one service in its 3yr lifetime, which was at 14k. I was wondering if i could drain out the oil and change it and the filter,. Just wanted to now if i could do this without affecting the ecu on its varable servicing setup.... or should i just leave it until the service light comes on?

cheers for the help pete.

Assuming that you are using the correct spec Longlife oil, I would be inclined to wait until the next service before having the oil changed. The oil quality is being monitored by sensors and, if you put clean oil in, it might just confuse ongoing calculations about when the next service is due.

If you change the oil the sensor will recognise it so its probably best to leave it alone. If its first service was at 14k and you have now done 31k i'd suspect it probably aint far off flagging up again anyhow.

ohh, is it easy to change?

Try some spray on it first, silicone is good, they usually get noisy as they pick up dirt.

Probably PN 06A 260 849C - ribbed v-belt for vehicles with air condit - 21,18 x 1195mm. A whopping
