Panoranic sunroof and spare wheel -no way!

Featured Replies

Dealer told me yesterday of a problem for a customer whose order was cancelled :'( by Skoda as their system said you could not have factory fitted options of the panoramic sunroof and a spare wheel together!!!!

Sounds bizarre :wonder: but its true!

Has anyone managed to get this combination...

or come across this problem?

Picking mine up on Monday, so will let you know !

A "proper spare tyre", jack and wheelbrace should be dealer options surely?

Oh and how about the pink paint and "Chinese 6" axle configuration? :giggle:

No No No !

Simply harse to bay purple!

I have the two above options but similarly I had a complication of two options having the factory say it was an invalid configuration; Columbus sat nav and 12 speaker upgrade. Upon checking, the dealer found it was actually a limitation of the new Skoda ordering system (which iirc cam into affect around December/January time).

I'll be checking over the option very carefully when mine turns up. ;)

Hey, with your user name, it was only a matter of time before someone said it! And how about some kudos for saying something intelligent first?

Sounds like you should start a new thread on this discussion- could prove robust! :o

I have sunroof and spare wheel ordered and now at dealers.

Better make sure I check for spare on collection :)

And sunroof

aerofurb has both fitted to his Tibetan White Monster: made no mention of an issue in odering both during the protracted order/delivery process he went though last year.

TP

Yup, Allams didn't have any problems with my order - Tibetan White, splendid panoramic sunroof, spare wheel, 12 speaker up grade, front parking sensors, Columbus etc etc.

Spare wheel isn't a dealer fit as it includes the different floor etc - that isn't to say it couldn't be retro-fitted.

Any order wobblies for option mixing must be a computer glitch me thinks. emoticon-0144-nod.gif

Are you sure about this - the wheel well is still in the boot (filled with a large bit of plastic). A wheel will fit under the raised boot floor. (which may need to be ordered at the same time)

Hi Terfyn,

yes you can fit the spare wheel assembly after she's built but it's not cheap; better a factory order :) Believe Agerbundsen has retrofitted the spare.

Note: variable boot floor, spare wheel floor cover and standard floor cover are all different things.

What I am sure is that mine wasn't dealer fitted, it came with it from the factory - and as I said, this isn't to say it couldn't be dealer fitted.... emoticon-0105-wink.gif

Is it OK to post in this thread without making a joke? ;)

Crawley Down Skoda had panoramic roof and spare wheel on their demo.

I am sure of this because the boot floor in mine is below the door cill and the spare wheel and kit brings the floor level with the door cill.

Picked up my "spare and sunroof" Yeti this morning.

Dealer, unprompted, said "you can't get a spare and a sunoof now, due to emissions" !

Apparently if you have both fitted it can tip you over the agreed parameters.

Is this for real?! :o

Yup - no red button to click on !

Thats hilariously poor! emoticon-0140-rofl.gifemoticon-0136-giggle.gif

(Although not funny if thats what you wanted to buy of course emoticon-0106-crying.gif )

Next they'll be saying passengers must weigh less than 80kgs, you mustn't have more than 4 carrier bags of shopping, and you can't fit anything to your roofrack. Muppets.

I'm happy - if they'd taken a "worst case scenario" view, I'd now be paying more road tax.

Well why not let customers have that option? If they want to tick all the boxes and pay a little extra road tax, then let them.

Why not just buy wheel similar to the others later from the dealers or from where ever or any other wheel for that matter?

Agreed.

And the sunroof is great !

Agreed.

And the sunroof is great !

Knowing my luck they'll probably decide to loose the roof and keep the spare wheel!!!!!

I actually didnt realise they tracked the options in regard of CO2 rating so Ive learnt something!

Glad you like the sunroof, its the main feature Im looking forward to. :)

Sorry, but the emmision levels are and can only be set to the ENGINE type, as specified by the manufacturer. They have nothing to do with what extras are fitted!!
