Rainworth in Mansfield keeps getting mentioned on the forums... Tried them?

ok will do,see what other people say 1st

Ring Jeremy Taylor or Steve Cantrell at RAINWORTH Skoda Mansfield 01623 623400. Well worth a call, myself & 2 others on this forum purchased from them before Xmas

& they matched DTD to within a few pounds.

many thanks

Try MSB at Darlington 01325 365200, I've just ordered my Yeti from them. They got to within £100 or so of Broadspeed price. Ask for Steve Eland, or the manager Malcolm. Their price was £1300 cheaper than the deal I was offered by the garage I got my Fabia VRS from.

Also purchased from Rainworth, picked up on the 14 Dec, and got good deal. Can't fault them...........

Yep, I spoke to Rainworth too via the Skoda store website.

Whilst they didn't quite match DtD they were not far off. Local dealer eventually got to within £150 of their price though and I decided it worth that to deal with someone around the corner rather than 100 miles or so away.

Excellent result

Long shot, but if you are in the Forces you can easily beat the DtD price - even for a UK tax paid car.

Progress Skoda in Bedford (Andrew Todd - Sales Controller) did me a very good deal (including a great trade-in price) on a new Octavia. I would say he's well worth a call.

Me also, but then they are down the road from me.

The dealer in Chesterfield is closer, but I would not touch them with a proverbial Barge Pole, bought my first vRS from them & a car for my Mrs, will not be making that mistake again.

Steve was the only good thing about the above dealer & he is at Rainworth now anyway. :D

Remember the best time to buy from a dealer is at the end of a Quarter when they will be keen to make their numbers and more likely to offer the best deal.

So try mid to late March and let them know you know about making numbers for maximum manufacturer incentives.

Yep , the best price will be when they need to meet a big target at the end of a month or even better , quarter.

That's why the deals people get offered will vary from month to month and from dealer to dealer.

If you happen to be there at the right time you'll get a bargain but if they have hit their targets already then there will be little incentive for them to give a car away.

Also be wary of special deals ending, Skoda are taking good orders at the moment so the vat off cant go on forever, also scrappage is in its last throws & it appears a bit of a lottery as to which manufactureres will get the lions share of whats left, Ive heard its going to be rationed out with those who have used the largest percentage to date getting the lions share but not had it confirmed, that will mean loads more Kias on the road. Waiting to month end / Quarter end is not always the best, you just have to keep an eye on things & talk to as many dealers as possible. As the Dr has said, making the dealer aware that you know how incentives given to them work will often make the price tumble

New dealerships when they are set up can be excelent as they get incentives. I bought my first 4x4 Octy around 7 years ago for £10495, that was around 1/3 off & when dealers were not struggling to sell cars, Skoda had preregistered some cars & pushed them to the one dealer as some sort of sweetener / incentive

At the very least you should be able to match the internet boys but it may mean travelling a few miles but as with most things research is the answer

If dtd are offering such a good deal which cannot be matched what is the problem with doing the deal through them? I"m sorry I know this doesn"t answer the question.

I never heard of DTD before, but just checked a price for an Octavia SE 1.4TSI with metallic paint and got £12006.74, which is £256 more than I paid using the scrappage scheme, not a bad price though.

You can get an Octavia 2.0T FSI vRS 5dr DSG for £16159.15, without options, which is fairly impressive.

Justin in Silbury Skoda got within £100 of my quote from CarQuake, no questions asked (just as well, as it later turned out that the carquake deal was through a leasing firm whereby I wouldn't have been the first owner in the logbook!). FL CR170 DSG estate in black with spare wheel for £17893, which I've just checked is £35 less than the current DtD price (although VAT was less back then) :)

Rainworth Skoda.

Got the same deal as DtD.

I bought my Octavia through DtD. It came from Marlborough Skoda, Isleworth (020 8225 5860). I couldn't fault their service.

I've 'phoned Marlborough since when I was looking for another car and I had the impression that they may beat the DtD price if you go direct to them. At the time of purchase Marlborough gave a letter offering me £50 if I referred anyone so I'm sure they are happy to sell direct. I'm also happy to split £50 with you!

Having said that I was also completely happy with DtD and I think they provide an excellent service in keeping prices low.

I forgot to mention that Marlborough also delivered the car for free. I'm in South Wales but I think the offer extended to the UK. They also normally deliver on a trailer if you are worried about anyone else driving your new pride and joy. The day mine was due to be delivered the delivery vehicle broke down so I reluctantly accepted that it would be driven down as I'd already taken a day off work. Even though I worried about some teenager thrashing my brand new car, I was relieved to find it delivered by an elderly professional looking gentleman. I also had the remains of 3/4 tank of diesel into the bargain, which I wouldn't have had if it cam on the trailer.
