Workmanship on wheel arches

Featured Replies

Are people happy with the workmanship on the linings of the wheel arches on their Yeti's?

Noticed on the rear wheels ours had considerable flexibility and movement and wonder if this might be a source of future problems.

The linings to the front wheels are fixed quite firmly and do not move.

What sort of problems do you foresee from having a flexible wheel arch liner (by which I assume you do not mean loose)?. If it flexes slightly when hit by stones and the like then surely that is ok or does it appear to be poor assembly rather than the part itself?

They make them flexible on purpose.

As otherwise, snowchains would fit.

Only joking.... I've always understood them to have some air behind, as if they didn't, any stones/debris would transmit the energy (and sound) directly into the body.

I have jetwashed inside all the wheel arches and not noticed any movement nor have they given cause for concern. I have (dealer fitted) mudflaps and these may anchor the rear of the arch more firmly.

It is situations like these where I would be looking at the 3 year guarantee for replacement or repair.

Thanks - this seems a reasonable explanation.apart from the echo between lining and body :)

I could not understand why there was coated body colour metal behind the suspension struts and this looser secondary lining on each side.
