Removing mirror covers?

Featured Replies

Mine came off quite easily when someone drove past one night and clipped it off. Swines.

The covers are simply clipped on, to remove it you first have to remove the mirror glass to access the clips. Once you have the mirror glass off, the clips are easily visible. Be careful when removing the glass to avoid breaking it and if you have heated mirrors you'll need to disconnect the wiring.

My mirror (plus side window) cost £465 to replace recently on the car insurance......

Deep joy.

Just removed mine today to upgrade the puddle lights to LED's (which is a nice look btw) and they came off quite easily useing a very fine knife edge and a terminal driver, (all sounds a bit Pikeyish but it worked well). As said above the cover is just clipped to the base of the wing mirror and with a bit of care and manipulation they pop right off with no need the to remove the glass at all.
