I have a set of 16 x 6.5 J Sirius Wheels which were an alternative size for my Octavia Scout, running 205/ 55 Goodyear Optigrips.

Can anyone give me a definitive answer as to whether these wheels could be an alternative fit for my 4 x 4 Elegance, which is currently on 225/50 x 17 Pirellis? (Please don't refer me to The Plumber's List,as I've already consulted it, as well as the Skoda Accessories catalogue.)

If they were, I would ideally would then re-shoe them with Nokian G2 Winters to use Oct - March.

Any views / expert counsel ?

Hi,

I think it will depend on there offset rather than width. Discussed Octavia wheels on a Yeti with the service Manager at my dealers; they had tried some (not sure which) on their Demo for a winter option and found the offset didn't work.

One of the links in the Guide discusses offsets, this might help.

Best tyres for wet spring / summer / autumn I've had on any car bar none, and the ride was vastly improved as well. The tread pattern is renewed as the tyre wears. Think I would still prefer to have a genuine winter tyre for deepest winter, though I think these would do pretty well.

Now all I have to do is buy a set of wheels to fit the ones I have on the Octavia wheels !
