Boost problem update.

Featured Replies

Well, just back from Simpsons in Colne about my boost mystery, and, it is no longer a mystery. :D

The result was as follows, so all you folk with the same problem take note:

17705 Connection charger-throttle valve pressure drop- sporadic.

So there you are folks, thats the little gremlin that was robbing my boost .

Cheers

Don't know that i was being fobbed off. When the ecu shut down i could hear the throttle butterfly opening and closing, obviously not normal.

So what did they fix/change or otherwise do, and have they cured the problem permanently?

17705 relates to the modded boost pipe on the Octavia, does yours have it?

My octy has a turbosmart dual port DV by the inlet manifold. All the standard stuff has been removed. They said the code was throttle related, and when the car was in safe mod, when i dabbed the throttle i could hear the throttle butterfly chattering.

Skoda said all Octy RS have this problem sporadicly which i think is bull@*"t :finger: so they are not prepared to change anything until it breaks completly.

All they did was erase the memory and the cars been fine since (touch wood).

I'm going to speak to my own dealer tomorrow who are very good and see if they say.
