Awaiting delivery

Featured Replies

Hi

Just awaiting delivery of my new Octavia VRS (Petrol) hoping it should be in the next couple of weeks (it's in a port in Germany right now apparently)

Although I don't have my hands on it yet I've been thinking of a mod or two. Was just wondering what people's experience of the Bluefin from Superchips is on an Octavia VRS?

Is it worth the money? Do you end up needing to uprate anything else on the car? I assume it would invalidate my warranty but with it supposedly being easy to reset the programming between factory setting and non factory settings how traceable is it to the dealer that the re-map has been used then reset?

Anyway, just wanted some thoughts from people that have used one.

Cheers

Looks like you're waiting for the same ship as I am! Last update I had was that it was sitting in Emden waiting to come over - things are being a bit slower than normal according to my dealer.

Yep been a while. Ordered way before Xmas.

Oh well sure it'll be worth the wait. Which Octavia did you go for?

Same here, ordered mid November. I've gone for a Race Blue petrol vRS, with full leather (+ maxidot, spare wheel). How about you?

If you hear any update on yours, please post up!

Black Petrol VRS, only option I added was rear parking sensors. Getting it on PCH so didn't want to pay extra over 3 years for a load of options as I'll just end up paying a bomb for them over that time period. Mind you having read a load of the posts on here I wish I'd gone for the Maxidot now... :'( Oh well you live and learn.

According to the dealer mine is now in the country... In a UK port, they've even given me the registration number, just need to get all the docs over to me and then arrange a day for delivery. So with a bit of luck I should be in the drivers seat by this time next week.

Have you been given a date for yours?

i got told last friday 26th Feb that there were approx 3500 vehicles on the way over from germany over the weekend on 5 vessels! an update on wednesday 3rd March said that they are now in the uk so am just awaiting transport and registration etc! not sure how believable my chap is but thats what he has told me, so fingers crossed for next weekend perhaps

Not yet. My last update was on Tues 2nd to say it was at the port in Emden. Dealer said they'd let me know as soon as there's an update. Just hoping it isn't going to be sitting over for too long waiting for a ship.

That ties in with what my dealer said (funnily enough he told me it was in the country on the 3rd) so he might not be giving you a line. Sounds like ours came over on the same boats.

Can't be long now :)

5 ships coming in about the same time could happen just as it can be 2 or 3 weeks without any coming in, it just depends on the schedule of the ships. All the ships are in the same class and hold a maximum of 800 cars. They are small for car transporter ship but that is because of the limiting factor of the size of the British ports used, Tyne, Grimsby and Sheerness. They all depart from Emden in Germany next to the VW Passat manufacturing plant.

Which port your new car comes through all depends on the location of the dealer, for instance my dealer is in Bedford - all their cars come through Grimsby.

Finally, my car's been shipped over and I'm collecting it on Thursday. So for me, it will be about 17 weeks from order to collection.

Not long now!

 Great news.

I'm waiting for the dealer to give me a date for when he's delivering mine to me. Should be this week too.

Let me know how you get on with yours.... And your first impressions too.

Will do. 13 cars turned up all at once to my dealer on Friday, so they're working through prepping them in order of who ordered first.

I hope you ordered full size spare wheel at £55 . At that price it's a steal !

I didn't! :'( I didn't realise it didn't have one until too late).

Will wait and see what the stud pattern is when it turns up and see if I can get a cheap steel wheel from a breakers or something that'll do the job. I've got a jack and all that jazz from a previous car.

Don't you mean "At that price it's a steel !"

Yeah, the after sales/stealer price is a bit steep.

I think bluefin and the latest generation of ECUs in the late 2009 and 2010 onwards cars are incompatible, that's to say that VAG has introduced strong encryption that means you can't upload a new map via the OBDII port anymore.

I'm not an expert, but there are plenty on here who are, there is a pretty good write up on here somewhere that explains the issue more fully. Search for encryption.

PS - I have my vRS CR DSG now, arrived on Saturday, very nice and quite an improvement on the vRS PD it replaced.

So I'm officially not awaiting delivery any more. My shiny new VRS was delivered to me today. I ordered on or around the 10th of December so approx 3.5 months for delivery.

I haven't got to properly drive it yet as it was delivered to my work, so for me 5pm can't come fast enough so I can get out of here and in to the drivers seat.

Initial reaction is that it looks good in black. Feels solid and is well kitted out as standard. I'll form an opinion on the drive later :)

Dealer has thrown mats in which is good, a big  to Telford Skoda for that.

Bad things... I forgot to order a spare wheel

Anyway roll on 5pm!
