Nothing Working, Drivers Door

Featured Replies

Hi

I bought my Skoda Octavia Amiente 1.9tdi about 6 months ago (2001 model).

Nothing on the drivers door works (mirrors, windows, speakers, central locking etc) and has never worked since I bought it

The windows, speakers and central locking works on the other doors etc.

Is there somewhere that you can disconnect all the services to that door, the guy I bought is from said something of the sort but dint say how he'd done it.

He said he'd done it because the battery kept going flat (which it still does)

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

I would say water has gotten in somewhere in the door. Fairly common problem try a search that should reveal all.

They all connect at the lower A post. If you remove the plastic trim around the bonnet release lever, you'll see the plugs. I suspect the problem may be water ingress into the door control unit or chafed/broken wires in the door loom.

Thanks for the answers

Ive had another over the weekend and found/reconnected the connector.

I now know why it had been disconnected, it was more than just flattening the battery, things that work on the drivers door - Light at the bottom, drivers window opens/closes and radio speakers. What doesnt work - any other windows on passenger doors (which were working before reconnection, that is, they've stopped workking from passengers switches on their doors as well as not working from the drivers door), no central locking on drivers door and electric mirrors dont work. Ran out of time for further investigation.

Just as a by-the-way, when I had the door panel off, there was no water ingres, nor plastic to protect it. Are there supposed to be more than one connector for the drivers door?

Anyway, thanks again for your help.
