Big Thank You

Hi All,

What can I say?

This is the first time that I have been excited by getting a new car.

I am very fortunate to get a brilliant lease deal from my employer, my Ford Focus requires replacing and I had to set about choosing a replacement.

After in-depth research on the web, reading, "What Car" etc... I find myself totally smitten by the Yeti. I could not tell you when I discovered it; it just seems to have worked its way in my sub-conscience.

I then found this website and all these brilliant posts. They mean more, in my opinion than any review from a journalist.

I should be getting back the last details of the costs tomorrow on the various spec’s that I have requested. I know for sure that I will be getting one.. ..

However the order needs to be placed now for a 1st week of July hand over, when my current contract runs out. (Fingers crossed it all works out for those time scales.)

After the Test Drive, I now hate driving the Focus…. Roll on July!!

Many thanks to you all for your excellent contributions, advice and enthusiasm, I knew it was a brilliant car on paper. But you all brought the Yeti to life for me.

Bring on the Snow Monster!!

Kind regards

Chaz

Welcome :)

I am sure you will not be disappointed :)

Hi and welcome to the SMOC,

glad to here you've become a Monster convert and are enjoying the forum.

Regards,

Welcome and a great choice.

Everyone on here seems to have differing opinions on the minor points, but everyone loves their Yeti!

Let us know what you've gone for, model, colour (since when was Brown the most popular colour for any car??) and options.

Welcome to the SMOC, Chaz. Feel free to share your indecisions on colours and specs - everyone else has! emoticon-0144-nod.gif

aero.....ohhhhh no they haven't! :p

oh btw welcome chaz .....i reckon the combined knowledge of this forum easily outstrips the technical and subjective knowledge of the model displayed by the manufacturer and leaves the importer to shame....and just incase SUK are doing some fact finding  :moon:

Just as an aside. In describing a collective of snow-monster owners could they be referred to as monstrosities? :S :dull:

I still like my idea of those with Muscavado SMs being 'Muscovites' (but then I may be biased).

Any other collective Yeti nouns spring to mind?

Hi,

came across a horror novel the other day not my thing but might suite the current theme running on this post.

The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey

Definition of monstrumology:

1: the study of life forms generally malevolent to humans and not recognized by science as actual organisms, specifically those considered products of myth and folklore.

2: the hunting of such creatures.

oh PS Monstrum is Latin for Monster if you were unsure and before you ask no I don't speak Latin but I am a Plumbarius B)

TP

"I am a Plumbarius "

Not a star sign I am familiar with!

Er, Romanising 'aircraft engineer' may be a tad difficult, I reckon. I have got a Latin O-level if that counts for anything. SPQR. emoticon-0124-worried.gif

"Me transmitte sursum, Caledoni"

Tis is more space engineer than aircraft engineer. A couple of centuries in the future!

"Beam me up, Scotty"

I'll try that at work tomorrow, Tom and report back.... emoticon-0100-smile.gif
