Squeaking Noise

Featured Replies

I've got a squeaking noise on my Fabia vRS that's driving me crackers.

It occurs whenever I'm coming to a stop and it disappears when I put the clutch in. It's not the brakes.

It's a similar noise to a squealing aux belt, but it only occurs momentarily. Any ideas anyone?

Thanks

Oooer missus, sounds painful.

Thanks for the reply, is this something that I can lubricate myself?

Try some belt dressing spray on the aux drive belt. It could be the belt, or alternator clutch, aircon pump ( if you have aircon) aux belt tensioner pulley is a favorite. Clutch release bearing is unlikely, as they only rotate when the clutch is depressed, so any noise from the bearing would be with the clutch down and stop with clutch out.
