Morning all

Featured Replies

going to be looking at making some small mod's to my fabia vrs when the funding suits.

im thinking along the lines of a cupra r front splitter, front strut brace and a rear anti roll bar

now are these easy to fit myself? and are they easy enough to get hold of? i take it the spliter will be available from a seat dealer with the part number on the pinned thread. but is it best to get the other two off of the interweb?

any advise greatly appriciated

cheers

morning, i fitted my splitter myself just use masking tape to hold it in place when screwing it on

the front strut brace are easy enough also, just take the bolts out the top, place the strut brace on then bolt back up,

the anti roll bar i didnt fit myself, i couldnt jack the car up enough, the bolts seemed to be too rusted/ tight so i got local garage to do it, but if you get the bolts off then its an easy job also

ah ok cheers mate, any advise from where to pic the stuff up from?

The splitter you'll get from a Seat dealer.

Same for the strut brace if you want a new one!

RARB, You've a choice here

Jabba ARB, From Jabba direct, Look under site sponsors

Whitline ARB, From Awesome GTi, Again look under site sponsors.

Or if you can bide your time you might be able to pick up the brace and RARB second hand off of here!

Consider the following regarding the strut brace. It does nothing for handling, unless you run crazy power on track days. It blocks access to the air filter and has to come off every time you fit a new air filter. You are meant to use new bolts on suspension components. Your insurance will go up. So it can get expensive for something which does nothing ,and is hidden by the bonnet 99.9% of the time.

I can't truly comment on this as I've never driven with one fitted.. but a better suggestion for the funds this would take could be Seat Ibiza Cupra Rear console bushes.

After fitting and an alignment you may find it actually comes out slightly higher in cost but the stock ones are a known weak spot and the solid Cupra bushes do tighten up the steering a smidgen.
