i have a fabia vrs limeted edition. all standard and was serviced by skoda only a week ago.

the turbo whistles from about 1500 as normal but when accelerating hard there is a blowing coming from the engine bay noticable from about 2500 revs +

the sound sounds very simular to the heater blower when it blows on the screen.

could this be an issue with the turbo??

im not really too clued up on the whole turbo thing.

If it is the same whistle that I get then I think it's normal. I only noticed it when I once drove with my radio off.

However If you have a loss of power and if you look in your mirrors and see lots lo black smoke then it will be a turbo boost pipe that has either come loose/off or punctured.

its not the whistle i am worried about as yes that is normal, its the loud blowing noise im worried about

Hazard at a Guess that it is the Top intercooler Hose , Down by the Fuel Filter .. This seems to be very common ..
