Why would you need one?

Oh, and welcome :)

There is a button on the key, and thats always with you be it inside or outside the car.

To open the boot for an alighting passenger?

I don't think the boot opening control on the key works whilst it's in the ignition, does it?

Use the unlock all doors function on the drivers door

This has been covered many times before.

I too can see the benefit of being able to open the boot from inside the car.

(By opening I mean opening and not simply unlocking).

As mentioned above it is great for when a passenger leaves the vehicle and needs to collect something from the boot.

OK, it’s not exactly difficult to expect them to open the boot themselves but being able to do this for them without leaving the drivers seat would be a neat feature.

- The boot button on the key does not work when the key is in the ignition.

- The button on the centre console unlocks the boot but does not open it.

There is a thread on the Octavia forum where a few people have fitted springs over the struts so that when the boot is unlocked using the key the springs physically open the boot for you.

Since some Superb estates have the electrically opening and closing tailgate putting a button to activate it within reach of the driver would be a good idea (only to work when stationary for obvious reasons!).

The Superb electric tailgate can only be closed by pressing the button on the tailgate.

There is a way to alter this but it requires an expensive (for what it is) box that has to be spliced into the cars wiring loom.

Pictures of the button would be great please...

I have a button inside the car to open the boot (on the right side of the gear stick). I can only open the boot, not close it with that button. To do so I must buy a box for about 160 €. and I will...

Whenever I try to load a pic, I’m prompted to insert a URL link.

Anyway to directly load without having to load the pic somewhere else and link it?
