bluetooth

Featured Replies

Hi,

Yesterday i ordered a new octavia vrs diesel estate and being a manual dosent have the option of factory bluetooth.

I have to use two phones for business so need to have a wired in bluetooth fitted, problem is i'm not too happy with the prospect of having trim removed to have one installed so was wondering if anyone here knows whats involved and / or could recommend someone in the midlands that can do the job properly without breaking trim clips etc, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

Fit a Fiscon kit. I have one on order for mine, looks easy to fit so I'll do it myself when the car is delivered.

I just use a Motorola one that clips to the sun visor.

Not wired in but the battery lasts for ages. Does me anyway :)

Can you use two phones without having to manually change from one to another?

Me too (when I don't have the bluetooth enabled satnav connected).

Velcroed (is that a real word?) it to the flap of the sunglasses holder, call quality is great and you're right, the battery lasts for ages - unlike a no-name one I had previously.

I fitted the fiscon kit to my dads touran and it looks in easy and in theory is easy. In practise it has a very short loom that was just to big to fit behind the unit. But not enough length to properly tuck out the way.

it works very well when you have finish getting in and retains the standard look of the car.

Thanks for that, although i have a fair bit of experience of taking facias and door trims apart i know how easy it is to damage pieces of trim if your only guessing how it comes apart. I havent looked on here yet to see if there are any clear instructions, still have got plenty of tme, i wont have the car for another 12 weeks!

Fitted mine last night, and as with the Touran above, the chunky connector is just too big to fit behind the radio...finally after 2 hours managed to get it into a position where i had about 5mm of radio sticking out all round. It was 11pm, and had had enough, so just screwed the radio back in and somehow it ended up being flush with the dash again...not sure what I squashed in the process, but the Bolero and climate control still works! Haven't been able to try out the Fiscon yet as I need to get it coded, but the actual unit ended up the cavity above the glovebox!

Halfords in Oldbury fitted my Parrot Kit.

They had dash in any number of pieces but managed to sort it ok with no damage.

The guy has a VRS himself and loves Skodas which is a help!
