BBRGTI remapping

Featured Replies

Reading this weeks Autocar and in the Skoda classifieds it states:

"VW, Audi, Seat & Skoda Turbo models 150/180 to 250bhp, 210/225 to 255bhp at

Never heard of them before.

If it's the same BBR I'm thinking of, they've been in the VW tuning business for years.

Usually pretty decent work, but I've never used them before. I think the head honcho is called Brian Ricketts - he did the first ever G60 conversion in a Mk1 Golf GTI.

Edit: just read the stuff on the website - not the same guy!!

JUst noticed that on their Cooper S page that now it has been chipped it has a 0-60 of 16 seconds!!!!!!

The chip they use for the Skoda (and most other cars) is called an EVO 2 Star*Chip.

Isn't it Brodie Brittan Racing or similar. If so they've been around for ages...

They're the chaps. Once I got on their site it all made sense.

Looks very interesting, would like to hear from anyone who has used them :) 250BHP!! for

The figures do seem a little on the high side.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is a bit of optimistic marketing on their part.

Of course they be genuine figures but then I wouldn't think the engine would have a very long lifespan

Or they're assuming they can get the same figures from an Octavia RS as they can from an LCR or an S3....

BBRGTI....used to be GTI Engineering and was bought out by Dave Brodie an ex-touring car racer.

I think they are similar to Superchips in that it's generic code on a replacement EEPROM.

Not heard bad things about them.

Brian Rikcetts used to work for GTI Engineering and had a company called BRM Engineering (or something like that)...not sure if it's still around though.
