Hi, I just wanted to ask if anyone here knows how similar the parcel shelf is in the pre-07 Fabia, to the later version?

I wanted to see if the underslung luggage bag thingy would fit the new shape and if anyone has one, if fittings came with it or does the shelf already have fittings to accommodate it? At around £50, I didn't fancy just buying to try! Any help would be greatly received.

I know you can get some netting thing for underneath, don't remember a bag?

If it was me that wanted it i'd take a punt... if it didn't fit, i'd make it fit Got a cheapo bag in my boot that I attached velcro to that i keep tools in, stops the bugger from sliding around

Yeah, get what you mean but thought people would look at subjects that interest THEM thus attracting the knowers! joking aside, i recon someone here has had an old and a new, so would know how similar ther are or not. The point of a forum is to gain and offer insight and have a common pleasure etc.

Have you tried a Parts Dept to see if you can still get the one for the Mk1?

There were two that I was aware of - the pouch and the net...

Pouch was P/N DMA410001 and around £50 (seems pricey for a bag!)

And the net was P/N DMA410002 - £20ish? Not really that clear in the pic, but that red umbrella isn't suspended in mid-air so.... :p

Alternative is to mention to the Part Dept what you're thinking of doing and if they're reasonable I'm sure they'd take it back if it turned out it didn't fit. Or try Jorily for parts on here.

Yeah, it's the bag in the first piccy!

I was trying to see how similar the shelf was to later cars and how they fit. If they come with fittings, it may well work but if the older shelf has clips or stud fasteners already on, it probably won't work! Can you see sighns of clips on the underside of your shelf? (Assuming you have the earlier shape Fabia)? there aren't any on the new 'uns!

Suggest asking Skoda if the MK1 tailgate parcel shelf would fit the MK2 Fabia.

That way you would know for sure to go ahead and get the type you require.

Alternatively put a request out on this site for a member to try out his/her parcel shelf from their MK1 Fabia on your MK2 Fabia/??

Probably members like myself would not have this item fitted from new, and don't own a MK 2 Fabia, for comparison.

Was thinking of asking you but then saw your location! Not due down there for at least 3 months but love the area.

Altogether now, "Going up Camborne Hill, coming down, Going up"....

Sorry, don't know how the Mk1 bag fixed to the shelf. I've never seen one in real life

I don't think the Mk2 shelf will fit your Mk1, it's a different shape. Logic then dictates to me that a Mk2 bag won't fit your shelf either...
