Worth it?

I've been doing a bit of research on them lately, and can't make my mind up whether it'd be worth getting.

I'm after getting a map from Awesome GTi in the next month or two, and when I do get the map my thoughts were to get the 'EML' or whatever it's referred to on this forum as, mapped out.

Is it worth the £60 or whatever it is from Allard?

If you're getting a map sorted afterwards then yes it probably is, as you'll be able to get rid of the engine management light

Not too sure what gains you get but it does stop warm air going back into the intercooler which must have a benefit........... i fitted mine purely cause my egr cooler exploded lol

I'd say its worth it! when I fitted mine the amount of black crap on the manifold and EGR valve was quite something so to know that I only have clean air entering my engine is reassuring! TBH I still haven't had my CEL light mapped out as I decided to wait till I can fit an exhaust so I don't waste a custom map, I just give it a quick VAG com scan now and then to make sure there's nothing moody going on.

I also did the 'Elephant hose' mod at the same time, there's tonnes of info on here about it.
