mobil 1 5w 30w

Featured Replies

Hi , we've had the Fab vrs for 3 weeks now, 05 plate 22k. It was serviced by the (non skoda) dealer before we picked it up , and its been bugging me to call them to ask what oil they used. I called today and they told me they used Mobil One 5w 30w fully synthetic, he mentioned that it was VW approved, and something about the DPF.

Its worrying me that this oil isnt mentioned on the Sticky thread above.

So my question is this..... Is this oil ok to run in the PD, or should i get it changed asap? We've done about 800 miles since we've had the car

thanks in advance

Mark

is it 505.01 grade if not then no its no good for PD engines

Fabia doesn't even have a DPF does it? If I'm right (which is a first!) I doubt I'd trust that dealer!

Mobil 1 ESP 5W 30 has the following VW (PETROL / DIESEL), 504.00 / 507.00 It is also recommended for use in applications requiring VW 505.01 / 505.00 / 506.00 / 506.01 All VW engines with the exception of Unit-Injector / Pump-Duse TDI without Longlife Service and without DPF between 1999-2003 and R5/V10-TDi before model year 2006.

The oil you should use is a 5W-40 and VW 505.01 spec. However I think they oil they used was the long life stuff VW 507.00 spec for variable servicing. This is now also used in new VAG cars with 150+ BHP and ones with DPFs (Diesel Particulate Filters).

I think it should be OK with that oil as 507 exceeds 505.01 spec.

The VW507.00 supercedes all previous specs.
