Delivery Delays - 1.2 DSG Elegance

Featured Replies

Had a call from my dealer today... to update me on delivery issues.....my SM has had his build date put back to week 19  I placed the order at the end of Jan, and thought waiting until quoted April delivery would be an eternity now my patience is to be tested into May and possibly beyond!!! Apparently this has been down to a number of factors... ordering the new 1.2 engine and DSG, and loading Elegance with optional sunroof and spare wheel. Skoda ordering system won't allow Spare wheel with Sunroof therefore to achieve the an acceptable spec combination the spare had to go. Dealer has advised he will supply spare and jack seperately. All this because of emissions apparently. Nothing to do with RFL costs, simply that Skoda wants to ensure there average emissions across all cars it sells are within their own targets. Anyone elses build dates slipped? Dealers not happy but his hands are tied...not that its any consolation he's said somewhere around 16 weeks is now average for non standard spec Skodas not just Yetis. How can a 4 month wait be possible?

Anyone else having similar issues?

I could probably wait until June but wouldn't want to wait any longer.... would need Cambelt, MOT and service for PX. Anyone know where i'd stand if I needed to cancel order if it still hasn't arrived in June? would I lose deposit and be liable for any other costs?

Have you thought about taking out the main option which delays the build, ask your dealer for advice to get it back to original build date.

No idea where you'd stand regarding you P/X but I ordered my 1.2 TSi SE with Park Assist in the third week of January. Original delivery date was sometime in April. I'm now expecting it week 18. :(

That must be a flippin' heavy sunroof to have a noticable effect on the emissions.

  • 4 weeks later...

ahha - i missed this thread.

i'm in the same boat with the 1,2 TSI DSG7 - ordered 1st Feb, keeps being delay. Latest delivery date is 29th April.

If it moves back further i'll consider cancelling tbh.

i ordered a standard 1.2 tsi s model with no options 2 weeks ago... was told 16 weeks, then 20!!...tbh, no matter how great i think the yeti will be/is etc , im thinking twice now..anyone know the average wait for a standard low spec yeti actually is??

Skoda have put on more extra shifts at Kvasiny (weekends and nights!) for the Yeti and Superb and taken some capacity away from Roomster production to try to speed things up a little.

I sincerely hope this won't have a negative impact on the product quality.... :'(

Presumably weight/emissions is why towbars (18.5 KG) are not factory fitted.Great pity in view of the difficulties many of us are experiencing in this regard

I suspect the weight issue is so that Skoda UK can keep the 1.2 DSG in VED band F (149g/km CO2). Our 1.2 DSG took exactly 4 months from order (10th December) to handover (10th April).

what are your writes to cancell..,interesting to know.bet they would not like it.would you lose deposit?12/16 weeks is a long time to hang on for a car.

mke.

?12/16 weeks is a long time to hang on for a car..

True, but it is small fry in terms of how long you will actually have the enjoyment of said car. So in my book I really don't care how long I wait since what I get at the end is exactly what I want. Good things come to those that wait.
