I need to change the oil in my fabia vrs and am unsure as to what to use?

Thread on here says 5w40 to vag spec but if u go on opie oils website and put all the info in they come up with 5w30 vag spec oil?

Any help as to what i need would be great as i know irs very important to use the right oil.

Oh and its a 53 plate.

the most important thing is that its a minimum of PD spec, which is 505.01

some of the new specs supercede this, such as 507/504 which you can use instead, though these are usually more expensive

Fully synthetic 5w40 to VW 505.1 spec. Doesn't matter what brand, I use 'Halfords' £36. 00 for 5litres in POOL, near Camborne.

thats strange, i bought an oil service pack from them not a month ago, and it came with 5-40 as I expected.

The product chooser definately goes to 5-30 though. Strange.

As above, ensure it meets the Vag 505.01

Have had an email back from Opie Oils

"505.01 can be 5w-30 or 5w-40, it is also replaced with the more up to date 507.00 which is a 5w-30
