Clutch differences detween BLT and ASZ ?

Featured Replies

I have noticed today that my clutch has started slipping in 6th :(

I'm planning on going down the SMF route and I have found a helix setup for a pretty good price but its only listed for the ASZ engine code.

I believe the gearing to be different in the gearboxes for the BLT engines (shorter ratio's) ? but is the clutch setup the same for the BLT engine as it is for the ASZ ?

Thanks

Rich

Same clutch.

Same clutch.

My thoughts as well! Only reason it got a different engine code was due to emissions wasn't it? Something different in EGR?

How many miles has the clutch done then?

I thought the DMF was there to reduce the vibrations and also to protect the gearbox by putting less stress on the syncromesh?

Ben

to the OP, instead of flooring the throttle causing the clutch slip in 6th, why not drop down to 5th, therefore putting less stress/load on the clutch

Thanks Moggy :D

It's the original clutch still in it and is about to turn 64k, I thought the clutch felt a bit different recently and my suspicions have now been confirmed :(

Ohh well.... Some pennies to be spent then lol

I do generally feed the power so to speak and not just floor it but today when overtaking a load of cars up a hill I had to put my foot down which was when I noticed it slipping,

I don't rag it to death and have never booted it below 2k, I'm sure however it still has a good bit of life left in it

How many miles has your car covered? Is it remapped?

64k and yes it's remapped

If car is standard, why not fit this kit

Thats clutch and DMF add £34 for a release bearing, and it's a cheapish fix with genuine parts, just not in a Skoda box.

Blimey that is cheap, I take it that's just a standard spec clutch ?

According to VW spares its a Sachs clutch so should be pretty good, not sure if they made different rated clutches though if so it may not be an uprated one.
