CEL light after modding

Featured Replies

I took the hose off the egr today.

Also did the elephant hose mod.

Needless to say my cel light came on after a while.

Ive put the egr hose back on but am confused is it the egr hose or elephant mod that has caused this light to come on.

If i put everything back as it was standard will the light go away or do i need vag com on it?

Thanks all

EGR brings the CEL light on as far as im aware. Will most probs need a VAG COM clear

Matt

EGR mod gives CEL. It can be mapped out with VAGCOM

After putting the hose on the light has finally gone away.

When the light is mapped out, is it a case of the reason for the cel light being shown is mapped out or is it just the image on the dash board mapped out so it will never show no matter what the cause?

Vagcom cannot remove the Egr Value all together, It just reduces the Value to a level that will not illuminate the CEL, Only a Performance remap can totally remove the Egr Function.

As for your Question, The CEL will still illuminate for further Errors/Issues.
