JBS GT28RS solution in Golf +

Featured Replies

Looking at all the measureing equipment in the car it spools up at 3K but at 3.2K it's kicking a*s, that just tells you how fast it builds boost. You have to keep your eye on the revs cos your round to 7K in blink. Lots of witnesses unfortunately not from this forum, even had a Skoda technician there having a chip done at the time. Just to say that this is a gt28/71rs not just a 28rs.

Sounds interesting. :D

Hello Chris' date='

Mike never puts his cars on the rollers unless you request it, chuffing fast is what they are. The RS has hit a stumbling block the rods and pistons have not arrived. :( but the turbo is on. It should be the same power as the S3, don't know about the cost.[/quote']

So if the rods and pistons are a must the S3 must be making 4-- something Des. At least S3 has 4WD to handle it but with 2WD that will be quite a handful.

The KO3/s in your car can run from 150 - 220 why, because you've turned the boost up basically. So the S3 is running 400ish why because IP/customer want's it to doesn't mean every car you strap the turbo to will run the same power. Basically you tailor the map to the car/customer.

IIRC....rods and pistons aren't for the S3... it would also be wise, as a minimum, to uprate the clutch and ulitmately go for a uprated box......particularly for the potential figures.

Well, I've just been off the phone to James who told me that the kit is now on his Octavia vRS... (the JBS Demo Car).

All the hoses have been sorted and the downpipe has been fabricated.

It's being run in and tested at the moment, so stay tuned for more info once it's all bedded in.

Also to follow are photos of the whole setup, including the new JBS H Beam Rods that have been specially manufactured exclusively for JBS (with a nifty JBS Logo on each!) by Arrow.

Sounds good Josh, I take it you will be reporting back very soon after your test ride with James?

So he's been working on this and not finishing the Lupo eh?

Hmmph..

;)

I know the rods and pistons are only required for the vRS as the S3 block has it. This one has the uprated clutch already. Think the diff will be the weakest link now. Should be interesting when its finished.

Gary... As I'm sure you know I'm not the best of passengers, so my report will probably read: "OMFG, it's far too fast!!!" lol.

It's whether he lets me drive it this time lmao (I had a go when he fitted nitrous to it hehehe)
