Rear bearings on Fabia 1.4 MPI

Featured Replies

 newbie here. was wondering if any of you guys can tell me if i need a garage/mechanic to replace the rear wheel bearings? or can i do it myself ? secondly, are they tapered bearings with race, or a complete hub unit like the front?

thanks in advance

p.s. i'd like to know a reliable outlet to buy them from if anyone can point me in the right direction

Try posting on the Fabia forum. This one's for Octavias. Oh, I don't know by the way.

The 1.4 mpi will have drums at the rear though. I assume they are similar to the Polo rear drum setup and have the bearings in the drum itself, and should be easy to replace.

Ahh.

In that case then, They will be the old Taper seat type .. Hammer & Drift Jobbie ...

I think dfbulb is right, the hub/bearing arrangement is the same irrespective of discs or drums.
