... trying to flick my map sensor wiring back to proper 4 bar setup.... Pulled the fitting off a crimped wire! D'OH! Going to have to find a local garage to re-crimp it tomorrow.

And the car is flashed with the new mapping too..... but obviously cannot tell WTF it is doing whilst in limp mode! :giggle:

Thankfully if it all goes a bit pete tong I can put it back to the old one, and have a decent power level for this weekend.

Hmm, and here was me thinking you were doing so well

Anyway, to make you feel better, how about this. Many years ago, I was replacing the front pads on my Golf GTi. Drivers side no problem. Round to passenger side, couldn't get the 7mm allen key to budge the caliper bolts. Small hammer, no, bigger hammer, no. Next door neighbors kid comes out to ask what I'm doing. Then points out I am turning the bolts the wrong way to slacken them. Apparently a common mistake when you work on two sides of a vehicle in the same day, but only if your thick as dog poo like me.

Kid was five BTW

Doh! :( Hope you get it sorted soon! :)

Rule No. 1 - Don't ever use crimped wire connectors, especially the aluminium ones. Strip it, twist it, solder it, shrinkdown it.

Been re-done this morning so no more MAP sensor faults. Now the fresh mapping is on, it's time for some trialling, and possibly tweaking. :)

Looking forward to seeing what you get this sunday and the rest of the people on TDIclub. :)

Figures are needed!!!

Figures will follow. Doing some logs tonight as with the new map and now fully untampered 4 bar map sensor, the boost is coming in a lot later than I would like.

Dont want to burst ya bubble, but limp mode is actually 27bhp... Iv'e RR'd mine with the same MAP sensor issues, in limp mode. 27bhp it is, however it does have a healthy 61lb.ft all peaking before 3,000rpm! I have a graph somewhere ;)
