V6 !!!!!

Anyone else confirm. I will complain if that is the case.

Yes, its V6

The map disk is ordered seperately from the nav unit via part number, it sounds like the dealer ordered the wrong one when you got your car. It is possible that V6 is installed on your car but you have the wrong disk.

Interesting... Local dealers have told me it was still V5 that they get when they order it???

Showed me one that had come in, Skoda package & said Europe West V5, A2C53371337 Order Number ANN 000 065 on the box (wrote it all down as I nearly bought it!!!!)

Do you have the PN for the V6 disc as i've been putting off getting the V5 'cos of it's age? Is the V6 disc a VW one? Don't mind which so long as I can update soon as V3 data is becoming a real pain!!!

I'll have to double check with them if this is the case!

V6 is definately the latest mapping

V3 Map discs haven't been sold for about 2 years now so i would go back and complain.

Order no. for V6 Western Europe map disc is AAN 000 067

V6 map is Q4 2008. BMW Maps are only Q2 2009 so not much difference

This is the Info from the Disc's toc file

I know that says VW but the disc is the same for everyone. Once you put it in the Unit loads the correct data (i.e Skoda POI's ) once it has determined which manufacturer the RNS510 is in

I know it works as i have the same disc and all my Dealership POI are Skoda

Carl

Mine is V5 Jan 2010

I'd be back to the Dealer. V6 have been out a while now.

Cheers Mate, the info is very interesting took it with me today.

Spoke to local dealers parts counter this afternoon, and they still swear that V6 with the order number ANN 000 067 is not yet available in the UK. The one they ordered last week was still V5.

Where have folks bought their disk from as it may be better for my to get it from another dealer, if there is some local misunderstanding?

You can get V6 discs from uvworldwide.co.uk

They cost £79 plus £5 postage

It's definatley available.

They are probably just trying to get rid of V5 discs they have.

If that fails try a different dealer

Well I've been out and about for work today, so i dropped into two different Skoda dealers, got told the same! Not yet available in the UK. Even told by one that they had been shown the cover scan of the V6 disc before and it was a fake!?!?!

There aren't many more dealers on my patch to try! So if anyone has bought a genuine V6 from a Skoda dealer, an you PM me the dealers details? Or if you got the V6 disc from VW, can you post the PN? Or if it's available abroad, can some one confirm this, as I might be able to source one that way?

Stone me! this is really incredible. The v6 maps are available for download for anyone who is savvy (and a bit iffy) and the dealers are trying to palm off v3 maps as the latest? This is exactly the sort of business sense that will drive Skoda back into the the 1980s.

A legit punter with 99 quid burning a hole in his/her pocket who wants to be up to date simply cannot buy the v6 maps for love nor money. Doesn't make any sense.

And who is going to go to the effort of mocking up a Skoda v6 dust jacket and disc label?

I reckon the dealers are under policy to get rid of the v3 maps first. There are probably boxes full of them all over the UK. Once they are gone the 'latest' will be v4 for a couple of years. Meanwhile back on World Wide wRob folk are downloading thousands of pounds of Skoda/Navteq revenue.

I would contact Skoda UK and get a definitive answer from them, preferably in writing with the part number etc. Then see if the dealer says that is a fake LOL.

My dealer (Basingstoke) has v6.1 so maybe try them?

I can Guarantee you that cover is not a Fake

I can also guarantee you that the Latest map is V6

I would try a different dealer also get the name of the Parts Manager of the Dealers you tried and write to Skoda UK

Thanks countryboy. I've just ordered v6 from uvworldwide.co.uk. £ 82,23 incl shipping to Norway.

My FL Octavia, delivered in june 2009, was equipped with v3.

Your welcome, mine arrived in 2 days, not in the proper vw DVD case but a plastic wallet so assume that they are copies of an original, however when I put it in my Columbus, it did say new navigation DVD, do you want to save to hard drive or something like that, so I said yes and away it went, don't know how long it took, I just left it to it and went back a few times in the next couple of hours. Never did see a loaded succesfully screen but I ejected it ok without an eject now and the update will be stopped/lost message, so I assume it went in there ok.

Ian.

Another possibility is to visit a VW dealer and order the disk through them. It will be exactly the same disk in VW packaging.
