What to do?

Featured Replies

I'm looking at a replacement for the Land'y and i have seen a couple of options,

1 is a 1.4 petrol dec 06 with 84,000m FSH Roomster.

2 is a 1.9 TDi 52 reg with 81,000m FSH Octavia Est.

Both cars are skoda's from main dealers.

Both fit the requiremnts.

What would you go for? the Roomster is £100 more.

Thanks.

Do you need rear legroom? If so, have the Roomster. And yes I do have an Octy estate, so am surprised how well the price seems to be holding up!

Which one will need to cam belt doing next?

Also in the running is an 07 Fiat Panda with 15,000, for the same price as the other 2.

Basically it is going to be a cheap runaround doing possible 15miles a day.

And that's all it's required for.

Don't really fancy a Fabia again.

Personally, i'd take the diesel over the petrol.

More economy, more torque, easier to resell, probably faster too.

Octavia for me

If you already have a Roomster, i'd opt for the Octavia, just so you have something a little different to drive.

Both probably cost the same to run i would think ?

If the Octy is an Elegance or an L&K, I'd definitely have it over a Roomie 1.4.

Just found out the Oct'y has been sold :'(

Will keep looking.

Surely if its only 15 miles a day, why thats around 4k miles a year why must it be a DIesel ?

A small car that you can use for those short trips, that you can have a bit of fun in - A Lotus Elise

i've found our 57 reg diesel is no better on fuel on short journeys, if not worse than my 11 year old felicia round town, however on the long journeys the bmw wipes the floor! find a little petrol car, i'd be tempted by the panda tbh, or even better a 500 if you can find one in your budget!

Thanks for the suggestion Steve, but should possibly have 4 seats,

Why Diesel? I just like them.
